Roosevelt University's Oyez Review celebrated the release of issue 32 on Saturday, February 12, at Quimby's Bookstore, 1854 W. North Avenue. Chairs were set up in the back of the store and a good crowd huddled in. The featured artist for the event was Rachel Jamison Webster, who delivered a remarkably powerful entrance into Chicago's poetry scene. Her poetry contained a rich, local flavor, touching upon such themes as Ukrainian Village elderly and a kids ride in Lincoln Park. Spending twenty minutes on this post-Arthur Miller Saturday to hear Rachel read was worth the el trip to Wicker Park. Quimby's gets some top names to read, including Tony FitzPatrick, who recently celebrated the release of his new book at the alternative bookstore.
