**Thur April 2: 10th Annual Columbia College Chicago Citywide Undergraduate Poetry Festival, 5:30 p.m., Conaway Center , Columbia College Chicago 1104 S. Wabash Ave., 1st floor The 10th year of the Columbia College Chicago Citywide Undergraduate Poetry Festival brings together 11 poets from Chicago-area colleges and universities to read their work. Columbia College Chicago, Richard Dugan; DePaul University, Heather Styka; Loyola University Chicago, Kevin Weidner; North Central College, Rachel Hamsmith; Northeastern Illinois University , Elisa Karbin; Northwestern University, Ashley Keyser; Roosevelt University, Joseph Palumbo; School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Jeni Crone; University of Chicago, Luke Rodehorst; University of Illinois-Chicago, Matthew Melnikoff; Chicago State University (TBA)
**Thur April 2: Spoken Symphony is the stunning combination of both performance poetry and beautiful music. The poet is Ignatius (Iggy) Mwela. The musical group is Willowfair. This special performance will take place in the American Room of Walter Paytonís Roundhouse, located at 205 N.Broadway, Aurora, IL 60505 on April 2nd, 2009. Show starts at 8pm, tickets are only $10. **Fri April 3: Celebrate National Poetry Month at Loose Leaf Tea Loft, 4229 N. Lincoln Ave, as it continues its First Friday Poetry Love-In series with "Not Your Usual Suspects," featuring Sid Yiddish, Dred Sista Ren, Anna Husain, Noam Paco Gaster, Lee Groban, Josephine Lipuma, Robert Klein Engler, Andrea Change, Vito Carli and JANEISnotplain, 8 to 10 PM, free.
**Sat April 4: Chicago Cultural Center Creative Chicago Expo. Now in its sixth year, the Creative Chicago Expo is a free, day-long event that connects Chicago's arts community -- individual artists, businesses and organizations working in dance, music, film, fashion, theater, visual arts, literary and design -- with the services, spaces, information and networks that they need. Last year 3,500 artists attended the Expo, participating in 23 workshops and connecting with more than 100 vendors, including arts services, community organizations, arts education, space and housing providers, health care and financial consultants and more

**Thur April 9: Film Row Cinema, Columbia College Chicago, 1104 S. Wabash Ave., 8th Floor, Poets In Hollywood, Robert Polito & David Trinidad in Conversation. 1 to 2 PM. Robert Polito's most recent books are the poetry collection Hollywood & God and The Complete Film Writings of Manny Farber (forthcoming August 2009). His other books include Doubles, A Readerís Guide to James Merrillís The Changing Light at Sandover, and Savage Art: A Biography of Jim Thompson, which received the National Book Critics Circle award in biography. He is the founder and Director of the New School Graduate Writing Program, and is completing a new book, Detours: Seven Noir Lives. David Trinidad's most recent book, The Late Show, was published by Turtle Point Press in 2007. With Jeffery Conway and Lynn Crosbie, he co-wrote Phoebe 2002: An Essay in Verse (Turtle Point, 2003), a mock-epic based on the 1950 film All About Eve. His other books include Answer Song (High Risk Books, 1994), Hand Over Heart: Poems 1981-1988 (Amethyst Press, 1991), Pavane (Sherwood Press, 1981), and Plasticville (Turtle Point, 2000), a finalist for the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize of the Academy of American Poets . With Denise Duhamel and Maureen Seaton, he edited Saints of Hysteria: A Half-Century of Collaborative American Poetry (Soft Skull Press, 2007). Trinidad teaches poetry at Columbia College Chicago, where he co-edits the journal Court Green

Past contributors to Rhino are welcome to read a poem at the open mike following the featured readers.
