Chicago Poetry Photos .
On Saturday, June 7, 2008, CJ Laity began noticing some mysterious behavior at the Printers Row Book Fair. He covertly took some photos as undeniable evidence that something strange is going on in the Chicago Poetry Scene. Here is the proof! Below each photo you can read our analysis.

Why is Poetry Center of Chicago Executive Director Francesco Levato disguised as a CIA agent? What is going on behind those dark glasses? And notice the woman who is acting like she's not paying attention. Ho, hum, I'm just reading a newspaper. Yeah, right.

Now take note of Mr. Levato's left arm. Notice the way it is positioned against his body, making sort of a triangular shape. We at ChicagoPoetry.com believe this is a deliberate gesture. We believe this is some type of secret sign that is being used in the Chicago Poetry Scene. For the purposes of this report, we will call this gesture the "Tea Cup Symbol".

And isn't that Hugh Schwartzberg acting like the doesn't see me. He's the guy who goes around videotaping everything. Is he secretly videotaping the Tea Cup Symbol? Very mysterious. Very mysterious indeed.

What is up with Chicago poet Jan Bottiglieri? Has she been moonlighting as a wrestler? And what is she hiding in her hand?

Also, notice the man behind her who seems to be praying. What sort of poetic doomsday is approaching?

We strongly believe this is not really Al DeGenova of After Hours Press. Who is it then? Popeye? If so, what is Popeye hiding in his hand?

Take a good look at Barry Silesky's hat. Do you see the skulls and crossbones? Didn't some kid get tazered for asking John Kerry if he was a member of the skulls and crossbones? Didn't the kid scream "Don't tazer me bro!" Do you think this is simply coincidence? I don't think so, bro.

Hmmmm. Lisa Alvarado's shirt kinda looks like Barry's hat. Hmmmm.

Award winning author Billy Lombardo clearly gives the Tea Cup Symbol during his reading.

Why does Puddin'head Press publisher Dave Gecic look so sinister? What is he hiding in his hand? Also, notice the woman hiding in the upper right corner of this photo. What is in that bag?

Ellen and Sage from the Guild Complex are up to something! I can feel it in my gut.

Look! The EM Press guys are giving a two-sided Tea Cup Symbol.

Now look at the EM Press guys act all innocent!

This is Kevin Coval. Notice how perfect he looks. Perfect hair cut. Perfectly trimmed beard. Perfectly rolled up shirt sleave. He's perfect, right?

Oh yeah? Then what's that reflection in his glasses?

What is it???

WHAT IS IT????

This is Michael Kadela of EM Press. Take a look at his face. Now take a look at the cartoon on the poster on the podium. It's the same person!!!! Are we to believe that this is accidental?

We believe anarchist poet Joffre Stewart is sending a secret message to the other conspirators with this Tea Cup Symbol. Notice the woman behind Joffre who is whispering in the man's ear, no doubt deciphering the secret code.

This image of Mike Puican needs no explanation. You can see it in his eyes.

Is Free Lunch publisher Ron Offen hiding something in his mouth?

Is he????

This is an example of extremely suspicious activity taking place at the Rhino Magazine table. Now we see what everyone has been hiding in their hands. The Rhino is out of the bag.

Take a good look and judge for yourself.

This is extremely alarming. Notice the Double Tea Cup Symbol as the tattoed man apparently does the polka at the featherproof books table. What is Jonathan Messinger up to? Is he planning another blog attack?

Take a look at record breaking poet Lee Groban. He's acting like he doesn't see me. He's acting like I don't exist. This is actually Nina Corwin on stilts, isn't it.

Finally, if you think this strange behavior exhibited by author Pam Miller and Mercury Cafe host Vito Carli is not suspicious, then chances are you are part of the conspiracy. Make no mistake! We will uncover your activity and when we do we will reveal it to the public.

NEWS ALERT: CLICK HERE to find out about the freak storm that closed down the Printers Row Book Fair on Sunday.

Note: On Saturday, June 7, CJ Laity investigated some mysterious activity at this year's Chicago Tribune Printers Row Book Fair. Examine the evidence for yourself here.
